Manager/Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides day-to-day supervision for employees and supervisors assigned to specific worksites ensuring efficient and quality work through coordination of daily assigned work tasks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a must
• Must have valid license, driving required nightly to get to crews and job sites
• Professional appearance and demeanor, leveled headed to handle conflicts
• supervise an area with 6 to 10 teams (each team can be 1 to 4 people)
• Must be computer savvy
• Able to work approximately 4pm to midnight (time can fluctuate depending on crews and nights)
• MUST fill in when a supervisor is out or a team member is out (This means physically cleaning with the crews)
• Must help with Interviewing and Hiring new employees and terminating employees including paperwork involved
• Identify recruitment sources in the area and foster relationships to assist in meeting staffing levels.
• Work with office staff to recruit employees.
• Must be able to discipline employees through progressive behavior notices and one on one meetings
• Must check in with divisional manager daily
• Inspect client buildings for quality and make sure OSHA requirements are upheld
• Verify and check employees hours, correct any wrong clock punches
• Network with Facility Managers and contractors at worksites and other locations to discuss Schuman’s products and service in an effort to increase revenue.
• Contact clients in case of emergency and to check on issues or concerns
• Train all new supervisors in area as well as workers on Schuman Cleaning Systems such as clean by color,
continue cleaning and looking for better ways to clean. Train employees through hands on demonstration and
instruction as needed with new and current employees.
• Continued training employees on efficient cleaning processes and quality
• Motivate employees so they grow with the company
• React in a timely matter to issues and concerns, generally contacting the client right away and fixing the issue
within 24 hours.
• Assign work location and specific jobs as needed to work crews. Ensure that staffing is adequate on all jobs to
meet Schuman’s expectations for quality work and to meet customer needs.
• Pick up supplies as needed either from Schuman office or Vendors
• Supervise work crews to ensure that full understanding of work crew on expectation of each job, that
assignments are understand and completed efficiently and in accordance with expectations and that work is
completed in accordance with the customers’ expectations.
• Look for ways to promote other Schuman services such as carpet and tile cleaning.
• Maintain fuel cost budget in accordance with division budget.
• Inspect company vans and fusions, Maintain vans and fusions, tools and supplies to ensure that all are operating
efficiently and safely. Replace and repair as needed. (Van to be cleaned weekly)
• Inspect jobs pre and post completion and make adjustments as needed.
• Solve issues on worksite as needed.
• Make sure supervisors are completing all paperwork such as Daily Summary Sheets, time sheets, etc. as needed.
• Motivate and encourage employees to achieve maximum efficiently and to take pride on the job site in the job
they are completing, the level of service they are providing and the attention to detail that is required.
• Provide coaching and development of staff including on-going training, team building and effective
communication. Keep employees informed of new products, new techniques, changes, policies, procedures, etc.
Keep this part fun and enjoyable for the employees
• Respond timely to questions from employees and work to resolve employee issues in a timely, fair and equitable manner in coordination with the Division Manager. Seek appropriate office staff or owners as needed. Decisions should be based in the following order: What’s best for Schuman first, then for Division, then for the Team, then for the Individual.
• Assist Division Manager in overall management and direction of division.
• Manage supply levels. Ensure employees have the required supplies for each job prior to job starting as well as
monitor supplies for loss/abuse. Turn in supply order to Divisional manager for all locations
• Notify Division Manager of on-the-job accidents, employee issues, employee complaints, customer complaints
and other related issues immediately.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES IN ADDITION TO YOUR CURRENT MANAGERIAL ROLES:
This position provides daily direction of employees assigned to specific work sites, coordinating duties and schedules. Provide direction, assignment and instruction to other supervisors as needed.
Duties
1. Fill in for any supervisor that is out whether they are sick or vacation.
2. Make sure all new hire paperwork and ID’s are turned into office and approval is received before employees start working. (background check needs performed)
3. Administer drug tests to all new employees and make sure they have their ID Badges
4. Make sure all Shifts are covered, including Weekend shifts while paying attention to Over time
5. Go with crews that are short handed & manage them.
6. Train all new employees on clean by color and team cleaning for quality and time. Make it fun.
7. Train all supervisors on how to delegate, run a crew, do paperwork, organize a building clean, etc. Make it fun.
8. Inspect the work of cleaners and supervisors
9. Fix complaints that very day by running with that crew
10. Fix inspection results that very day by running with that crew
11. Keep equipment in good working order
12. Keep expenses within budget within 3% of revenue for each crew under Manager’s supervision.
13. Stay up on new and better cleaning procedures and certifications
14. Hold weekly training meetings just 15 minutes or so with a different topic each week. Discuss with Divisional Manager
15. Train in the field on cleaning techniques
16. Cross train all employees in the field on a regular basis
17. Training is first and foremost which will produce Quality.
18. Turn in to Divisional Manager a daily training worksheet, must be done daily including times.
